I’m a bit of a research junkie. Shocking to you, I’m sure. But when it came time to put together our registry for Miles, you better believe that I did my homework.
When it came to strollers, I had a few key features I was looking for. It had to be durable, but still light enough for me to carry up and down stairs. And I really wanted to find a stroller that could be the only stroller Miles would ever need. Considering the size of most New York apartments in our price range, we knew we’d really only have space for one.
The winner? Maclaren’s Techno XT in Crown Blue.
I cannot reiterate enough how different things are from one child to the next, but the Techno XT really was/is everything we were looking for. Miles was able to use it from birth since it reclines flat, and it will hold him until he’s 55 pounds–which is the average weight of a seven year old!
Even though it took me a minute to figure out (minute, hour, whatever…), I can personally attest to how easy it is to open and close, even while carrying a crying baby. Of course, as with everything there are downsides, and with this one, the biggest problem is storage. With the seat reclined even a little it’s really hard to get to the basket underneath, and I’m still trying to figure out what’s supposed to go in the pockets off of the back.
Overall, though, I’m very happy with our choice, and VERY thankful to the people who gifted us with it. Now, all we need is the footmuff for winter…
