Neighborhood Eats {GIVEAWAY}

I was invited to have dinner at The Office Tavern Grill.
All opinions are my own.

The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind. My husband’s schedule has him out of the house three nights a week, and mine has had me out at least one other night a week for the past several. Throw in our various work and church responsibilities, plus a dog and a preschooler, and we’ve been lucky to get a few minutes in front of the TV together lately. PLUS, I’m heading out of town for a few days later this week. And you know what that means?

Date night!

With all the craziness, I didn’t have to plan something as elaborate as our previous Bookstore Date Night, but we were happy to be able to hop in the car and enjoy a relaxed dinner together.

We tend to stay closer to home when going out to dinner, but this time we decided to venture a little further into New Jersey to try out The Office Tavern Grill in Summit. If you’ve never been in that area, it’s adorable – we’re talking Star’s Hollow levels of cuteness. And right there, just a few steps from the train station, is where you’ll find this restaurant.

Once seated, we were offered not one, not two, BUT THREE separate menus – including an iPad dedicated solely to beverages. I’ll admit it felt a little overwhelming at first glance, but it’s always nice to have options. I mean, Cheesecake Factory has an entire notebook of options, and no one’s complaining about that, amiright?

After starting the evening with one of their featured cocktails (the delicious and potent Yellow Hammer), my husband and I chose to begin with the apply-named appetizer Couldn’t Decide – which included an awesome assortment of tasty treats: fried mozzarella, truffled tots, wings for him, and spinach fondue for me.

Truthfully, we could have just ordered that and left completely satisfied. Did we stop there? Goodness no (a la Pete the Cat)!

David decided on the Chicken and Waffles for his main, which included melt-y gruyère, Applewood bacon, and a maple syrup reduction.

I’ve been on a major seafood kick lately, so I opted for the Crab and Avocado Flat Bread. I have to say a couple of my first bites were really salty for some reason, but for the most part, it was delicious…and huge. I ended up getting three meals out of it!

If you know me at all, you know that I don’t think any meal is complete without dessert.

The Office’s dessert menu isn’t currently available online, so I was a little worried about what the options might be. That proved completely unnecessary. With choices like Red Velvet Waffles and Berry Cheesecake Empanadas, everyone is likely to find something to their taste.

After having seen another table be served the Baked Cookie Trio, our choice was simple.

Holy smokes, people. It. Was. So. Good.

You have the option to top each warm and gooey cookie with a scoop of your choice of a few ice cream flavors. We kept it simple with vanilla, and dessert ended up easily being the highlight of our meal.

As in, I will absolutely drive the extra mileage to have it again.

As in, I am considering moving to Summit if only to be able to order it whenever I want.

THAT GOOD.

Are you ready to give it a shot yet? Keep reading…

I have partnered with The Office Tavern Grill to give one lucky reader a $50 gift card to experience the delicious for themselves. It’s just a short drive (or quick train ride) from NYC, and well worth the trip if you’re anywhere nearby in New Jersey.

Interested?

Just follow the link below and enter to win. Entries close at the end of the week, and we’ll reach out to the winner next week.

Oh, and if you need someone to go eat with you, I can make myself available… (That good.)

THIS DRAWING IS NOW CLOSED.
