Do you remember that break I was talking about taking a few weeks ago? Part of that time was spent developing an idea I’ve been tossing around for a while:
If you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you know that there are a few things that I love, and one of those is simply getting things done. I love making lists and checking things off. I love planning projects and seeing them through.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered not everyone gets as excited about a completed to-do list as me. Luckily for all those folks, I enjoying creating (and completing) those lists for other people, too!
As I mentioned, this is an idea I’ve been toying with for a while – a little over three years to be exact. It all goes back to my friend, Liz.
Early on in our friendship, we both realized that she had a lot of really fun ideas but no solid plan on how to realize most of them. Challenge: accepted.
Over regular meetings over coffee, she and I listed out ever single project. We then prioritized by how important each item was to her and how realistic it was to actually get them done. It was around the time we wrapped on one of the big ticket items that I realized that I loved this!
I realized I want to help other creative women make there crazy ideas a reality. That can mean anything from planning a party, to creating a realistic budget, to something as simple as getting all those ideas down on paper once and for all.
Not one to do things halfway, I knew I wanted to do this for real. I scoured the internet for the perfect, well, everything:
- site hosting (SiteGround)
- template (Georgia Lou Studios)
- the list goes on…
I even spent a very awkward day having my picture taken by the obviously very gifted Jeni Magana. I’ve never done anything like that before. It walked the fine line between super fun and supremely uncomfortable. I did end up with some pretty great pictures though, so I’ll take it.
I’m still working on making the website better and better, and on figuring out how to reach the women out there who could use a nerd like me to help them make things happen. I’m also still working on my social media game. Ladies and gents, it’s a full-time job! Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest… it’s a lot.
While I’m working on growing my empire, is there anything you could use a hand with? Check out the new site; I’d love any feedback.
