The official first day of fall was on Friday. Are you excited? I am…because fall means a change of attire, TV premieres, and so much more!

To celebrate the change in seasons, let’s take a look at some of the things I’m loving right now.

WATCHING: Jane the Virgin (on Netflix)

JaneAnd the binge-watching continues…

I just finished this one a couple of night ago, and HOLY CUTE, BATMAN! I don’t know if it resonated with me thanks to the countless hours of telenovelas my mom has watched over the years, but it took exactly one minute for this show to hook me.

The show follows Jane, the aforementioned virgin who becomes pregnant after being accidentally inseminated at a routine gyno appointment…and her mother, soap star father, religious grandmother, baby-daddy hotelier, and cop fiance. There are also criminal masterminds and evil twins because SOAP OPERAS. All good things, trust me!

READING: Love-Powered Parenting by Tom & Chaundel Holladay

41FRoFVzL+LAt the beginning of the year, I try to come up with not only a reading goal, but an actual list of the specific books I want to read. I do that so whenever I finish a book, rather than trying to search for something, I can just pick something off my list.

I try to divide that list into categories: fiction, biographies/memoirs, business/leadership, and books to make me a better wife and mother.

This one is exactly what it says. Broken down into short chapters meant to be read one a day over several weeks, this book is full of great advice and encouragement for overwhelmed parents (also known as ALL parents).

LISTENING TO: “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift

LWYMMDDarn you, Taylor Swift!

I’ve never considered myself a huge Taylor Swift fan. I don’t have anything against her, nor do I deny her talents as a songwriter, but… meh. And this new single of hers didn’t wow me in the least the first couple of times I heard it. But I. Can’t. Stop. Listening.

That’s exactly why I am now convinced her music includes some subliminal messages that make you come back again and again. And somehow this song that I openly showed distaste for upon release, now gets turned up every time it comes on the radio.

Seriously, how does she do it???

EATING: Ice Cream

IMG_6264Ice cream has never been my favorite dessert. Other than the occasion pint of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food, I am perfectly content having a few bites and putting it away.

But there’s something about summer, and specifically the impending end of summer that makes ice cream a little more enticing.

One of our family’s favorite excuses to get out of the house is ice cream – specifically at Sonic. Raining? Stay in the car! Blue skies? Sit in their courtyard and enjoy! Either way, ICE CREAM!

WEARING: Sweaters

CF cardiHave I mentioned that FALL IS MY FAVORITE? Because it is. And while NYC weather is being a bit bipolar (what else is new), I have been able to bust out some of my cozy favorites already.

The one pictured here is from Old Navy, and it’s just the most comfy open cardigan I’ve ever had. THIS one is similar, but I think the one pictured is unfortunately no longer in stock.

Right around the corner? Boots and hats, just a couple more of my seasonal faves.

Until then…

What are YOU loving right now? Anything (including, but not limited to movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, books, theater, [NYC] restaurants, recipes, clothing/accessories, websites…) I should put on my must-check-out list?
