I was provided tickets in exchange for my honest review.

I can’t quite pinpoint the moment when my baby boy turned into a full-fledged boy, but we’re there. In typical fashion, my little man loves all things football and fart jokes…and especially anything on wheels.

When I found out Monster Jam was coming to town, I knew it would make for a perfect boys night out for my son and husband. My husband invited one of his friends to join them, and Miles was able to invite a friend of his (and his dad). Boys night was on!

They were unfortunately unable to attend the pre-show Pit Party, which is a really fun opportunity to see the trucks up close and meet some of the drivers. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Pit Party, so if you have the chance you should definitely check that out as well.

While it was a bummer that they missed that part, it didn’t stop them from having a great night on the town. After finding their seats and stocking up on Prudential Center snacks like soft pretzels and hot dogs, it was show time.

From what I’ve seen, these trucks are no joke; most of them are over 12 feet tall! These colossal vehicles compete in various competitions, but the most fun is the freestyle round, where the trucks and their drivers get to show off all their best tricks. Judges then assign them points.

You better believe Miles had his favorites. When the guys got home, he immediately showed off his brand new Scooby-Doo. He also couldn’t stop talking about Zombie and Megalodon, and the fact that he got to see El Toro Loco and Grave Digger – some trucks that he already had – in real life.

A couple of reminders for next time:

  • Be sure to bring plenty of cash – parking, snacks and souvenirs add up fast!
  • Depending on how old your child it, you might want to bring a pair of headphones. Especially for the indoor events, it can get very loud in there.

Lo and behold, just this past weekend, we stumbled upon Monster Jam on TV. Miles proceeded to make flags to cheer on his favorites and made me watch several showings. And it was actually pretty fun! Who knows? Maybe I’ll crash the party next time.

Excuse me. I have to go watch Monster Jam on TV with my son… again.
