I love pop culture. Not in the obsessive way, but there are some definite fandom-s I consider myself a fringe member of (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Disney…). I’m not quite so die-hard that I need Comic-Con in my life, but when it comes to television especially, I look forward to Vulture Festival every year.

Vulture is the pop culture offshoot of New York Magazine. It’s my go-to website for some of my favorite TV recaps (Brian Moylan, you slay me) and movie reviews. Vulture Festival is a pop culture event hosted by Milk Studios in Chelsea. It features two days of screenings, appearances, and discussions with several big-name actors and directors.

Tickets for each panel this year varied ($25-50), and they did have an “all-access” pass for $400. I’m pretty stingy, so I decided to just pick my favorite and attend that.

The winner? Getting Older with Younger – a panel featuring “the age-defying cast of Younger” and the show’s creator, Darren Star. So good!

I have been watching Younger since the beginning, and I was so excited to see some of the cast in person just before the fifth season premiere.

Well, two things.

  1. It was basically THE ENTIRE CAST.
  2. We got to pre-screen the season premiere.

The event started with the screening. I don’t know if you watch this show, but (a) you should and (b) the season premiere was SO good. It took all my strength not to post any spoilers, or at least spill to some of my friends.

Once the episode was over, the cast walked out, and all I can say is hubba hubba. We all know that for the most part you have to be reasonably attractive to star on a television show. This group is on another level.

But wait; there’s more.

They were also so charming! It’s always so refreshing to see a cast like this. They seem to genuinely like each other, and there is a feeling of encouragement and kindness between them. I don’t know how many workplaces you have been in, but that is sadly not always the case.

As much as I melt for Nico Tortorella‘s smile, the real standout for me was definitely Peter Hermann. Beyond being strikingly tall, dark, and handsome, he was so charming! He had nothing but kind words for his castmates, and basically Mariska Hargitay is one lucky lady.

The moderator asked a serious of questions submitted via various social media platforms, and it was really just a super pleasant hour that felt like a fireside chat. It also made me even more excite for the season ahead…which is actually just about to wrap up.

If you’ve never seen it, the earlier seasons are available on Hulu. Watch it!
